Problem with Access 2003 dbase

On the opening screen I tried all of the buttons and received the following on each of them. I also tried going directly into the forms and received the same on most of them.

The expression On Click you entered as the event property setting produced the following error: Object or class does not support the set of events.
* The expression maynot result int he name of a macro, the name of a user-defined function, or [Event Procedure].
* There may have been an error evaluating the function, event, or macro.

maybe security related?

Hi Mark,

my first question to the community is: Has anyone else experience a similar problem?

I tried to google the error message and the only useful link I came up was the following: http://www.mcse.ms/message775586.html
That one suggests a db security related problem. There's another link that suggest checking against the available service packs - I assume those are installed on your machine?

My Access version is: Access 2003 (11.6566.8122) SP2

Can you open the startform in design mode? Try to add a simple command button and add a Messagebox function. Let me know if that works. Does Access allow you to view/change the security settings (does it show you as 'admin' user? (hope it does, since I've not a really good idea how to fix that problem...).

How about the tables - can you open them (try to edit the comment field in the services table, that's fairly safe).

Thanks for your patience
Christof
